OST Spring Convention and Celebration - April
Each spring, New Hampshire’s out-of-school time field has come together for a statewide professional development gathering in partnership with ACROSS NH, whose work played a vital role in strengthening OST quality and leadership across the state. While ACROSS NH has since closed, its impact continues to shape the field.

In 2026, the New Hampshire Afterschool Network is proud to bring back the Spring OST Convention & Celebration, carrying this tradition forward in the spirit of the meaningful work ACROSS NH led for so many years. This convening brings together out-of-school time professionals, program leaders, and partners from across New Hampshire to build skills, share best practices, and celebrate the power of afterschool and summer learning.

Out-of-school time programs play a critical role in supporting youth—fostering social and emotional growth, strengthening academic skills, encouraging physical activity, and providing safe, supportive spaces beyond the school day. The Spring OST Convention & Celebration continues this legacy by ensuring professionals have the tools, connections, and inspiration needed to help New Hampshire’s children and youth thrive.

Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week (APAW) - April
Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week is a time to recognize, celebrate, and advocate for the dedicated professionals who support children and youth during out-of-school hours. Throughout the week, programs and communities come together to lift up the essential role afterschool professionals play in creating safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences for young people.

Each year, the New Hampshire Afterschool Network uses this week to highlight Afterschool Champions—individuals whose commitment, creativity, and care make a lasting difference in the lives of New Hampshire’s youth.
Summer Learning Week - July
High-quality summer programs support academic growth, strengthen engagement, and help young people stay connected to learning beyond the school year. When youth lack access to enriching summer opportunities, they can experience learning loss—particularly in core subjects like reading and math—making it harder to return to school confident and prepared in the fall.

In New Hampshire, summer is a powerful time for exploration, creativity, and growth. It offers a unique opportunity to engage youth in meaningful academic and enrichment experiences that build skills, relationships, and confidence. To highlight the importance of summer learning, the New Hampshire Afterschool Network supports programs with tools and resources to engage youth, families, communities, and local leaders during National Summer Learning Week, lifting up the value of summer learning across the state.

Light's On Afterschool- October
Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event that celebrates and advocates for afterschool programs. The New Hampshire Afterschool Network is committed to raising awareness of the role afterschool, before-school, and summer learning programs play in ensuring our kids graduate from high school and are ready for the workforce.

On Thursday, October 22, 2026, programs across Alaska will celebrate Lights On Afterschool and showcase the incredible work that afterschool does in keeping kids safe, inspiring youth to grow, and giving parents peace of mind. Lights On Afterschool events, like afterschool programs, come in all shapes and sizes, from public rallies to open houses to newsletters.
